First of all, I really don’t like sidechargers. I did this build for two reasons. 1. To see if I could do it. 2. My teenage son may find this easier to charge than the typical AR rear charging location.
You also may think, why not just use the Dissent which is already a side charger? 1. Dissent isn’t full auto capable. 2. If you look at my high speed videos, the Dissent isn’t really that smooth being bufferless and not tune-able. 3. I think the Dissent upper is kinda bulky 4. I also wanted to try tucking in a small diameter suppressor but the Dissent’s rail ID is too small.

I decided to try using the FM side charger parts as most other side chargers use uppers and I was concerned that they may interfere with the fixed ejector that mounts to the upper.

Since I mill off most of the material on top of the carrier to make the PhaseII’s, I was able to leave material to interface with the side charger op rod.
