Many people have asked me to do this and I’ve been hesitant to since I am finding so many variances on different Titanium FP’s I’ve tried.\u00a0 Fortunately there are several sources of Titanium firing pins out there.\u00a0 I used some cheap ones from ‘Total War Tactical’ but they haven’t been in stock for a long time.\u00a0 The first one I ran for probably 50K rounds. The second one lasted maybe only 10K.\u00a0 I got some from HK Parts and those were hit or miss.\u00a0 Some wouldn’t even fit in a Colt 556 bolt and I had to modify them to even go in a bolt.\u00a0 I obviously wouldn’t recommend those.\u00a0 I know some of you are running ones from Iron City Rifle Works.\u00a0 I’ve tried emailing them and left them several voicemails and they never communicated back so I gave up.\u00a0 I got some of these from Anarchy Outdoors.\u00a0 Notice that they advertise these to work in 7.62×39 builds which typically require a longer FP protrusion for deep seated primers typically seen in various brands of 7.62×39 ammo.\u00a0 All that said, these bushings MUST be made to be paired with FP’s that are confirmed to have the appropriate protrusion which is in the range of .028″ to .036″.\u00a0 DO NOT use the provided bushing with any other FP unless you or a a qualified gunsmith has validated that it lands in the range mentioned.<\/p>\n
I use full power hammer springs in my builds.\u00a0 I have seen the bushings get deformed after a lot of rounds and it is your responsibility to confirm the FP protrusion over time.\u00a0 I personally have not seen the protrusion go out of range but that is me.\u00a0 I cannot control all the variables of YOUR build or what conditions or ammo you use.<\/p>\n
